What is an engine flush?

An engine flush is a maintenance procedure that can help to clean, lubricate and protect your engine, extending its life and improving its performance. An engine flush can also help to clear any blockages in the system, allowing your engine to run more efficiently and effectively.

An engine flush works by removing dirt, grime and other particles from the complex network of passageways and passages in the engine. It is performed using a heated chemical solution that is injected into the oil pan. This solution helps to dissolve sludge deposits on internal components, break down persistent contaminants, dislodge gummy build-ups and remove varnish that can accumulate in the oil pan over time. The result is a cleaner and better lubricated engine.

It's important to note that an engine flush should only be carried out by a qualified mechanic or specialist service garage as incorrect application of these chemicals carries risk of damage to your car's parts. The main sign that would indicate an engine flush is required would be excessive oil consumption or reduced performance of the vehicle or signs of dirt or sludge built up in the oil pan or other components such as spark plugs or oil filter housing where metal does not appear shiny anymore.

Engine flushing can provide numerous benefits to a car's overall performance from improved fuel economy due to less resistance created by a cleaner system and reducing emissions due to improved combustion efficiency with fewer deposits in cylinders walls preventing misfiring, which contribute significantly to air pollution.

In addition, improved capacity for components within the system prolongs their lifespan allowing you keep your car running much longer without experiencing increasing levels of wear and tear brought on due to buildup on components within the system over time.
